How i got my husband excited about investing

My husband and I have been together for over a decade.  Our whole relationship, I’ve been the one that handles the finances.  He’s the one that brings home the bacon—I’m the one that cooks it.

But, when it comes to investing, two heads can be so much better than one.  For a while, I tried to get my husband interested so we could team up to secure our finances for our family.  He was resistant.  I understood—after working so much, the last thing he wanted to do was think about more money, more business.

After I got excited about playing an active role in investing, not just letting my bank do what they wanted with my money, I realized the perfect way to get my husband invested, too.

Make it fun.

That sounds obvious, but it was no easy challenge.  How often have you read The Economist for laughs?  I tried a variety of methods, from TV to podcasts to youtube videos, but none of it would stick.  He’d get interested for a week at most, then he would fall off.

Knowing my husband, I realized I had to find something active, something that felt like  a game.  He’s always loved playing computer games as long as we’ve known each other.  What if I could find something that scratched that itch?

Now, obviously money is no joke, and one’s future isn’t something to be played with.  But that doesn’t mean there aren’t opportunities to turn bland trading into a thrilling experience.  It just took a little digging.

After eliminating sites like E-Trade, Charles Schwab and Fidelity for feeling like an Econ 101 lecture, I found the perfect answer: a trading website with an interface that feels intuitive and straightforward while still being rewarding and lucrative.

The answer was Try2BFunded.

Try2BFunded is a prop trader that allowed my husband and I to invest using other people’s money.  I’d heard of prop trading before, but the problem always seemed to be that it was too much work for too little reward.  Not so for Try2BFunded

Where other companies offered us 20% of the money I’d earned, Try2BFunded let us earn 60%—a majority.

What I liked most about the service was obvious: I was able to learn new strategies quickly, I was safeguarded against losing too much of my investments, and I was earning well. After 6 weeks, I’d made it past the qualifying rounds and was starting to see a consistent payday.

My husband loved the influx of new money.  We could loosen our belts, go out to dinner and the movies, even plan a vacation.  But what he really loved was how engaging the site is.

Try2BFunded starts you off at a qualifying round, stage one, and gives you an interface that feels as exciting as a computer game.  By playing with risk, researching strategies and outmaneuvering other traders, you level up.  Once you hit level three, the money starts flowing.

On top of that, I’m proud to admit that my husband is a 100% certified nerd.   When I say nerd I don’t mean Big Bang Theory, I mean the kind of charming obsessionist who likes to research thoroughly and learn expansively.   Big data, like in fantasy football, gets his motor running.   That’s why I knew if I combined Chaikin Analytics with Try2BFunded, I’d get him hook line and sinker.

Chaikin Analytics is a one stop shop for information of all types: cleanly written editorials, quick-info bites and, above all, big data that helps turn trading into a real time strategy game.  For a low monthly fee, Chaikin lets my husband get his geek on.

It’s been almost 6 months since my husband started using Try2BFunded and Chaikin Analytics.  And it’s been almost 6 months since he’s picked up any video game.
